Tyler is a current undergraduate at Washington University in St. Louis studying economics and global health on the pre-medical track. He joined the Miller Lab in Spring 2020 working with Dr. Cindy Ly to explore the impact of mutant SOD1 protein kinetics on ALS disease pathology. Prior to his work in the Miller Lab, Tyler spent three years working in the laboratories of Dr. Wen Zhang and Dr. Mengyan Li as a Provost Summer Research Intern at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
His interest in neurology has led him to explore the discipline from multiple perspectives. Tyler was as an intern at Novartis Pharmaceuticals, specifically researching multiple sclerosis. Additionally, Tyler worked at an assisted living community for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease. Outside of the lab, he is a First Year Center Executive Board Member, Campus Interviewer, and co-chair of the College Arts and Sciences Academic Integrity Committee.
